Our fees, compared

A small percentage, no flat fee per ticket, and no subscription to start.

Here's exactly what our fee costs on a real sign-up, who pays it, and how it stacks up against the tools organizers usually use.

What it really costs

A $20 sign-up, line by line

Our fee is a percentage of the price. Stripe, the card processor, charges its standard 2.9% + 30¢ on top. Every platform pays a card processor; some fold it into one number, we show it separately.

Who pays it

You decide: cover it, or pass it on

Pass it on

Add the fees at checkout and members pay them, so you're paid the full price you set. On a $20 sign-up, members see $1.63 added on Basic and $1.34 on Pro.

Cover it yourself

Members pay exactly the price they see; the fees come out of your payout. Many organizers just round their price up a dollar.

We only earn when you do

No setup fee and no monthly bill on Basic. If you don't collect money, Gametime Hero costs you nothing.

How it compares

The flat fee per ticket is what hurts small sign-ups

Total fees on one payment, card processing included, from each company's own published pricing. A lot of tools add a flat $1 to $1.79 to every ticket. On a $10 drop-in, that alone can cost more than our whole fee.

Fees per payment, organizer view. Subscriptions and setup fees are shown in the second column, not added in.
PlatformSubscription / setup$10 drop-in$25 sign-up$50 sign-up
Gametime Hero Basic3.5% + Stripe 2.9% + 30¢None$0.94$1.90$3.50
Gametime Hero Pro2.1% + Stripe 2.9% + 30¢$19.99/mo$0.80$1.55$2.80
What you get on both plans: Events, registration, payments, waivers, forms, rosters, messaging and your community website, all connected. Basic has no subscription; Pro is optional.
Eventbrite3.7% + $1.79 per ticket, plus 2.9% of the orderNone$2.51$3.52$5.20
The catch: It calls itself a "ticketing and discovery platform", built around one event page at a time. The flat $1.79 lands on every ticket, so a cheap drop-in pays the most, and buyers pay it by default.
Eventzilla (Basic)$1.50 per registration, plus 2.9% + 99¢None$2.78$3.22$3.94
The catch: Basic allows one paid ticket type, and its payment processor adds 99¢ to every transaction on top of the $1.50 registration fee.
Heylo (Base)5% + 59¢, plus Stripe 2.9% + 30¢None$1.68$2.87$4.84
The catch: The 5% + 59¢ is Heylo’s own fee; Stripe’s card processing is charged on top of it.
Humanitix2.1% + 99¢ per ticket, plus 2.9% + 30¢None$1.79$2.54$3.79
The catch: The 99¢ per ticket is added on top of card processing, so small tickets carry the biggest share.
RunSignup6% + $1 per cart (under $250)None$1.60$2.50$4.00
The catch: Built "for endurance events": race registration first. The $1 per cart plus 6% adds up on short drop-ins.
TeamSnap3.25% + $1.50 (invoices)Custom plans$1.83$2.31$3.13
The catch: No published plan prices ("customized pricing"), and the flat $1.50 rate is passed to whoever pays the invoice by default.
Luma (free plan)5% platform fee, plus Stripe$59/mo to remove it$1.09$2.28$4.25
The catch: Every paid ticket pays a 5% platform fee unless you pay $59 a month for Luma Plus.
TicketLeap$1 + 2% per ticket, plus 3% per orderNone$1.50$2.25$3.50
The catch: It’s an "event ticketing platform", and every ticket carries a flat $1 plus a 3% order fee.
Jersey Watch3.5% + $1$348/yr$1.35$1.88$2.75
The catch: Cheaper on bigger payments, but it’s $348 a year if you continue, whether or not you collect, plus a flat $1 on every payment. Built "for youth sports organizations".
SportsEngine Motion1% + 2.9% + 30¢$295 to start$0.69$1.28$2.25
The catch: Cheaper per payment, but $295 before your first sign-up and a 1% technology fee on top of card processing. Built as "class management software", "best for dance studios, cheer gyms, gymnastics clubs and swim clubs"; custom websites are an add-on.

One place, not five

A cheaper card fee doesn't help if you still pay for a website, a form tool and a group-text app. Events, sign-ups, payments, waivers, rosters, messaging and your site are already connected here.

Nothing to pay up front

No setup fee, no annual plan, no monthly bill on Basic. You pay a percentage only when someone pays you, and you can pass it to them.

No flat fee per ticket

Our fee grows with what you charge, with no flat charge stacked on every ticket. That's why a $10 drop-in costs less here than on most of the tools above.

Red means it costs more than Gametime Hero Basic. Fees checked against each company's pricing page on November 3, 2026; they can change, so check before you decide. Sources are listed at the bottom of this page.

Try your numbers

What would a year cost you?

Your price and how many payments you take in a year. Subscriptions and setup fees are included, so this is the full first-year cost.

Card processing is included at each company's stated rate. TeamSnap's plan price and Eventbrite's optional add-ons aren't published, so they're not included. Prices up to $249.

The cost that shows up before your first sign-up

Some tools charge you before anyone has paid you a cent. On Basic, Gametime Hero is free until you collect money, and Pro is $19.99 a month only when you choose it.

    SportsEngine: $295 to startJersey Watch: $348/yearLuma Plus: $59/monthPunchpass: $59/monthWildApricot: $66/monthMindbody: from $79/month

A weekly $10 drop-in with 10 players is about 480 payments a year. On SportsEngine that's about $626 the first year once the setup fee is counted. On Gametime Hero Basic it's about $451, and if your members cover the fees it's $0 to you.

And Meetup? Every Meetup group needs an organizer on a paid subscription plan, even before anyone RSVPs, according to Meetup's own help center.

    Questions

    Fair questions about our fees

Why a percentage and not a flat fee per ticket?

Because most community sign-ups are small. A flat $1 to $1.79 per ticket is a lot on a $5 or $10 drop-in. A percentage keeps a $10 sign-up's fee under a dollar, and only grows with what you charge.

Is Stripe's fee on top of yours?

Yes. Stripe charges its standard 2.9% + 30¢ to process the card, and it goes to Stripe, not us. Every platform that takes cards pays a processor; we show it as its own line so nothing is hidden.

When does Organizer Pro pay for itself?

Pro cuts our fee from 3.5% to 2.1%. If you cover the fees yourself, Pro pays for itself once you collect about $1,428 a month ($19.99 ÷ 1.4%). If members cover the fees, Pro lowers what every one of them pays.

    Are some tools cheaper?

For card fees alone, yes: Venmo, Square and PayPal charge less per payment, but they don't give you registration, waivers, rosters, reminders or a website. SportsEngine's per-payment fee is lower too, with a $295 setup fee. We'd rather tell you than have you find out later.
